Noted Bay Area Tribal Art Dealers Present a Show of Stunning Antique Ethnographic Art at Fort Mason
October 15-17, 2010
The sixth annual tribal art show produced by the local dealer association San Francisco Tribal will debut at 6pm Friday, October 15, with a new venue and name.
In a more intimate space in Fort Mason Building D, former home of The Mexican Museum, the show TribalSF2010 is the only fall art fair exhibiting the art of Africa, Oceania, Tribal Asia and the Americas. It is also exceptional in being organized and produced locally by the member exhibitors.
TribalSF2010 is hosted by San Francisco Tribal, an association of 15 renowned tribal art and textile dealers who are based in the SF Bay Area, internationally famous as one of the world's tribal art capitals.
TribalSF2010 will feature a stunning selection of extraordinary African masks and figures, Oceanic ceremonial and ritual objects, Pre-Columbian sculpture and ceramics, Tribal Asian textiles and carvings, and Native American art. Antique textiles, shields, ceremonial headgear, jewelry, pottery, weapons, masks, and figurative sculpture from all cultures of the world will also be shown.
A Preview Reception, featuring champagne and sushi, will be held Friday, October 15 from 6-9 pm, offering collectors an advance opportunity to view the extensive display of rare and beautiful works of tribal art for sale.
Tickets for the Friday night Preview are available at the door only, for $30 per person – no reservations nor advance ticketing. The price includes refreshments and re-entry to the show on Saturday and Sunday.
