A heavy set of bronze spikes interspersed with three bells forms this cache-sexe from the Vere people of Cameroon/northern Nigeria. It contains similar elements as a smaller version worn by young girls after initiation until marriage. Cf. A World of Belts by Anne Leurquin, pg.39, also pg. 25.
