Thule Eskimo Torso – SOLD

Eskimo people, Thule Culture (1100 – 1400)
Alaska
The charm has pyrite (fool’s gold) eyes.
4 cm (h) x 2 cm (w) x 1 cm (d)
Inventory no. 6547

There is a pierced hole for suspension at the bottom left hand side of the torso. There is some loss to the nose which seems to add, rather than distract, from the force of the carving. The pyrite eyes are very effective in this powerful miniature sculpture.
