This head wrap is silk supplementary weft patterned panels stitched to a length of indigo dyed cotton. The motifs include nagas and other mythological beings and are embedded in the textile to convey sacred themes, often including protection of the wearer from evil forces. In the bottom panel, gold thread is woven into the horizontal stripes. Professionally mounted.
