Part of an exceptionally rare group of early Mindanao costumes from as old European museum collection. Head cloths of this type are very rare in Western Collections. It appear to be made from a fine cotton trade cloth and patterned by tie-dye resists. There are small red cloth patches that are early local repairs. Note the fine border edging decoration.
