The Kondh are an aboriginal tribe of an ethnic group of Dravidian people from the state of Orissa. They are among the oldest tribes of India known for their animistic beliefs and sacrificial rituals. The heavy bronze sculptures have a deep patina with a net-like patterned surface. Their intricately detailed and whimsical motifs depict themes of people, birds and a menagerie of animals.
