Early 20th century
5.5” (14cm) tall by 1.5” (4cm) wide

A powerful little Songye charm in the form of a large “Nikisi” communal figure. There is brass charge in the belly and remnants of three other nails or tacks in the head and body. This may have been a personal charm or possibly attached to a larger figure. The patina is good from age and use, and there is a slight loss to the back of the base. Mounted on a custom stand.
