The majority of Urhobo masks adhere to the form and design most commonly recognized. However, some performances permit innovations in the Urhobo masking tradition which results in masks that are far less common. This is such a mask. It is painted with many layers of enamel paint. Each layer was painted over the previous layer before the mask was ritually danced.
