Preserved in its original form, this small and unusual Thangka was a personal meditation tool for the spiritual journey. Its portable nature displays significant ritual use by a devoted practitioner while on pilgrimage to remote areas or on extended retreat.
A traditional Mandala of the five Tathagatas or the Buddha families. Each of the buddhas embody one of the five aspects of enlightenment described as: spaciousness, clarity, richness, awareness and activity. It aids in meditation by presenting the understanding of the different forms of existence, and how they operate as a whole.
