A tun tun babi is a measuring stick used to set the height of a trip wire on a pig or deer trap.  Note the notches on the stick, waist and shoulder of the figure. He is known to sing out and attract the wild boars to the trap. Colloquially known as ‘pig sticks,’ these magical charms were outlawed by the turn of the last century.

This miniature sculpture features especially beautiful adze lines on its back and has a provenance from two world famous collections.
