The linear patterns improvise fluidly on the “sign of the leopard”,  the checkered, triangle and lozenge motifs that indicate the cat’s pelt markings in Grasslands designs. Although executed in the freehand Wukari style, the composition and layout nevertheless entailed pre-conceptualization, masterful control and precision, and many steps of production.
