The hipag/ha’pag formed part of a punamhan box in which ritual objects were stored. The box’s contents may include betel nuts, dried rice sheaves, birds’ and mammals’ feet and skulls and feathers. The box was handled by mumbaki shaman during rice harvest festivals. The hi’pag’s face shape is a mini replica of the rice deities (bulul).
