This very abstract print by Kinoshita explores his concerns with modern society. The title, Face (In a Crowd), speaks to the anonymity and consumerism that he witnessed in Japan post-WWII. He used subtle washes of Prussian blue and vermillion – both of which can be seen at the edges of this print – beneath his characteristic jagged black lines of sumi ink.
